حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَدْ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعِينُ عَشِيرَتَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْحَقِّ مَثَلُ الْبَعِيرِ رُدِّيَ فِي بِئْرٍ فَهُوَ يَمُدُّ بِذَنَبِهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad told us, Shu'bah told us, from Simak, who said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdullah narrating from his father — Shu'bah said: and I think he raised it to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him — that he said: "The example of the one who helps his kinsfolk in what is wrong is like the example of a camel that fell into a well, and is then pulled out by its tail."
