حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نَغْزُو مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ شَبَابٌ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا نِسَاءٌ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا نَسْتَخْصِي فَنَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ.
English Translation
Yazid told us: Isma’il told us, from Qays, from Ibn Mas’ud, who said: We used to go on military expeditions with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while we were young men without wives, so we said, "O Messenger of Allah, shall we not castrate ourselves?" So he forbade us from that.
