حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَلَأُنَازَعَنَّ أَقْوَامًا ثُمَّ لَأُغْلَبَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ أَصْحَابِي فَيَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ.
English Translation
Abu Mu’awiyah told us: al-A’mash told us, from Shaqiq, from Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "I am your forerunner at the Basin, and I will indeed contend for some people, and then I will indeed be overcome regarding them, and I will say, ‘O Lord, my companions!’ And He will say, ‘You do not know what they introduced after you.’"
