English Translation
Sufyan told us, from Jami', from Abu Wa'il, from Abdullah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No servant withholds the zakat due on his wealth but that a bald serpent will be made for him, following him; he will flee from it while it pursues him, saying: 'I am your treasure.'" Then Abdullah recited its confirmation in the Book of Allah: "They will be encircled by what they withheld, on the Day of Resurrection." Sufyan said another time: "It will be placed as a collar around his neck."
