حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَقَامُوا صَفَّيْنِ فَقَامَ صَفٌّ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفٌّ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَذَهَبُوا فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ وَجَاءَ أُولَئِكَ فَقَامُوا مَقَامَهُمْ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَصَلَّوْا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمُوا ثُمَّ ذَهَبُوا فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ وَرَجَعَ أُولَئِكَ إِلَى مَقَامِهِمْ فَصَلَّوْا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمُوا.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Fudayl told us, from Khusayf: Abu Ubaydah told us, from Abdullah, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in the prayer of fear. They stood in two rows: one row stood behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and one row faced the enemy. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led the row nearest him in one rak'ah, then they went and stood in the place of the others facing the enemy, and those others came and stood in their place. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led them in one rak'ah, then gave the closing salutation. Then they stood and prayed one rak'ah by themselves, then gave the salutation, then went and stood in the place of the others facing the enemy, and the others returned to their place and prayed one rak'ah by themselves, then gave the salutation."
