Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
It was narrated from Sa’eed bin al-Musayyab that `Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: `The deceased is tormented because of the weeping of his family over him.”
