حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَهَاشِمٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْبَخْتَرِيِّ قَالَ أَهْلَلْنَا هِلَالَ رَمَضَانَ وَنَحْنُ بِذَاتِ عِرْقٍ قَالَ فَأَرْسَلْنَا رَجُلًا إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْأَلُهُ قَالَ هَاشِمٌ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ مَدَّ رُؤْيَتَهُ قَالَ هَاشِمٌ لِرُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Give glad tidings to this ummah of glory, elevation, religion, victory, and authority on earth. Whoever of them does deeds of the Hereafter for the sake of this world will have no share in the Hereafter.'
