English Translation

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Sharik ibn Abdullah informed us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Talhah, from his uncle Imran ibn Talhah, from his mother Hamnah bint Jahsh, that she suffered istihadah during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have suffered a severe and repugnant bleeding." He said to her: "Stuff cotton in." She said: "It is worse than that; I gush forth." He said: "Use a cloth pad, and consider yourself menstruating each month in the knowledge of Allah for six or seven days. Then perform ghusl completely, and pray and fast for twenty-three or twenty-four days. Delay Dhuhr and advance Asr, and perform one ghusl for both of them. Delay Maghrib and advance Isha, and perform one ghusl for both of them. And this is the more beloved of the two options to me."
