حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْعَيْزَارِ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْحُصَيْنِ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدَةٌ قَدْ الْتَفَعَ بِهَا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, from Yunus, from al-Ayzar ibn Hurayth, from Umm al-Husayn al-Ahmasiyyah, she said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was standing at Arafah, wearing a cloak wrapped around himself, saying: "Listen and obey, even if a mutilated Abyssinian slave is placed in authority over you, so long as he maintains among you the Book of Allah."
