حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ مَاتَ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمَا قَالَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَقِيَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْوَلَدَيْنِ مَا قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَئِنْ قَالَهُ لِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا غُلِّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ حِمْصُ وَفِلَسْطِينُ.
English Translation
Hammad ibn Mas'adah told us, he said: Ibn Jurayj told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Umar ibn Nabhan, from Abu Tha'labah al-Ashja'i, he said: I said: "Two of my children died in Islam, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Whoever has two children die in Islam, Allah admits him to Paradise by the grace of His mercy toward them." He said: Then after that Abu Hurayrah met me and said: "Are you the one to whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said what he said about the two children?" I said: "Yes." He said: "If he had said that to me, it would be dearer to me than all that Hims and Palestine encompass."
