English Translation
Mu'awiyah b. 'Amr told us, he said Abu Ishaq - meaning al-Fazari - told us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu Qilabah, from Qabisah b. Dhu'ayb, from Umm Salamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came in to Abu Salamah when his eyes had become fixed [in death], and he closed them, then said, "When the spirit is taken, the sight follows it." Some of his family wailed, so he said, "Do not call down anything upon yourselves except good, for the angels say 'Amin' to what you say." Then he said, "O Allah, forgive Abu Salamah, raise his rank among the rightly guided, grant him a successor among those who remain after him, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, make spacious his grave and grant him light within it."
