English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman - meaning Ibn Mahdi - told us: Malik, from Sumayy and 'Abd Rabbih, from Abu Bakr b. 'Abd al-Rahman, from 'A'ishah and Umm Salamah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would rise in the morning in a state of ritual impurity from intercourse, not from a nocturnal emission, and then fast - and in 'Abd Rabbih's narration: "during Ramadan."
