حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ وَأَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَنْ أَذَلَّ لِي وَلِيًّا فَقَدْ اسْتَحَلَّ مُحَارَبَتِي وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِمِثْلِ أَدَاءِ الْفَرَائِضِ وَمَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ يَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّوَافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ إِنْ سَأَلَنِي أَعْطَيْتُهُ وَإِنْ دَعَانِي أَجَبْتُهُ مَا تَرَدَّدْتُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ أَنَا فَاعِلُهُ تَرَدُّدِي عَنْ وَفَاتِهِ لِأَنَّهُ يَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ وَأَكْرَهُ مَسَاءَتَهُ قَالَ أَبِي وَقَالَ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ وَقَالَ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ آذَى لِي.
English Translation
Hammad and Abu al-Mundhir told us, they said Abd al-Wahid, client of Urwa, told us, from Urwa, from Aisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: 'Whoever humiliates a friend of Mine has thereby declared war against Me. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the performance of the obligatory duties, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts until I love him. If he asks Me, I give him; and if he calls upon Me, I answer him. I do not hesitate over anything I am to do as much as I hesitate over taking his soul, because he dislikes death, and I dislike to grieve him.'" His father said, and Abu al-Mundhir said: Urwa told me, Aisha told me -- and Abu al-Mundhir said "harms" [instead of "humiliates"].
