حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَوَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ جَاءَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ قَالَ لَا قَالَ يَحْيَى لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ الْحَيْضُ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ فَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي قَالَ يَحْيَى قُلْتُ لِهِشَامٍ أَغُسْلٌ وَاحِدٌ تَغْتَسِلُ وَتَوَضُّؤٌ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ.
English Translation
Yahya narrated from Hisham, he said: my father informed me from Aisha - and Waki' said Hisham narrated to us from his father from Aisha - that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: 'I suffer from prolonged bleeding and never become pure; shall I abandon the prayer?' Waki' said he said: 'No.' Yahya said: 'That is not menstruation, it is only a ruptured blood vessel; so when the menstrual period comes, leave off prayer, and when it departs, wash the blood off yourself and pray.' Yahya said: I said to Hisham, 'Is it a single ghusl she performs, with ablution before each prayer?' He said: 'Yes.'
