حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا اشْتَرَتْ بَرِيرَةَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَشْتَرِي بَرِيرَةَ وَأَشْتَرِطُ لَهُمْ الْوَلَاءَ قَالَ اشْتَرِي فَإِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ وَلِيَ النِّعْمَةَ أَوْ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman narrated from Sufyan from Mansur from Ibrahim from al-Aswad from Aisha, that she bought Barirah. She said: I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I buy Barirah and stipulate for them the right of inheritance from her?' He said: 'Buy her, for that right belongs only to the one who has done the favor of manumission, or to the one who freed her.'
