English Translation
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: Za'idah narrated to us from Sadaqah, a man from the people of Kufa, who said: Jumay' ibn Umayr, one of the tribe of Taym Allah ibn Tha'labah, narrated to us, he said: I entered with my mother and my aunt upon Aisha, and one of them asked, 'How did you women use to do at the time of washing?' Aisha said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform his ablution as for prayer, then pour water over his head three times, while we pour over our heads five times because of the braids.'
