حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِي نَوْفَلٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُتَسَامَعُ عِنْدَهُ الشِّعْرُ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ أَبْغَضَ الْحَدِيثِ إِلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Abu Nawfal said: I asked Aisha, "Was poetry ever recited within earshot of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" She said, "It was the most hateful of speech to him."
