حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ { تُرْجِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوِي إِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ } قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ مَا أَرَى رَبَّكَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا يُسَارِعُ لَكَ فِي هَوَاكَ.
English Translation
Affan narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us: Hisham ibn Urwah informed us, from his father, who said: A'ishah said: "When this verse was revealed: {'You may put off whom you will of them, and take to yourself whom you will'}, A'ishah said: 'I do not see [anything] but that your Lord, Mighty and Sublime, hastens to fulfill your desire.'"
