حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدِي امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ الْيَهُودِ وَهِيَ تَقُولُ لِي أَشَعَرْتِ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ فَارْتَاعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا تُفْتَنُ الْيَهُودُ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَبِثْنَا لَيَالِيَ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَلْ شَعَرْتِ أَنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ.
English Translation
Abu al-Yaman told us: Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, who said: Urwah ibn al-Zubayr told me that A'isha, wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to me while a Jewish woman was with me, and she was saying to me: "Are you aware that you will be tried in your graves?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was alarmed and said: "It is only the Jews who are tried." A'isha said: Then we remained some nights, then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Are you aware that it has been revealed to me that you will be tried in your graves?" A'isha said: Then I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, after that, seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
