English Translation
Mansur ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, from Yazid ibn al-Had, from Amr, from al-Muttalib ibn Hantab: that Abdullah ibn Amir sent to Aishah provisions and clothing, and she said to the messenger, "O my son, I do not accept anything from anyone." But when he had left, she said, "Bring it back to me." So they brought it back to her, and she said, "I remembered something the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: 'O Aishah, whoever gives you a gift without your having asked for it, accept it, for it is only provision that Allah has presented to you.'"
