حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَنْ يَهْلِكُ مِنْ النَّاسِ قَوْمُكِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ جَعَلَنِي اللَّهُ فِدَاءَكَ أَبَنِي تَيْمٍ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ هَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ تَسْتَحْلِيهِمْ الْمَنَايَا وَتَنَفَّسُ عَنْهُمْ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ هَلَاكًا قُلْتُ فَمَا بَقَاءُ النَّاسِ بَعْدَهُمْ قَالَ هُمْ صُلْبُ النَّاسِ فَإِذَا هَلَكُوا هَلَكَ النَّاسُ.
English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn al-Mu'ammal narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from Aishah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O Aishah, indeed the first of the people to perish will be your tribe." She said: I said, "May Allah make me a ransom for you — the Banu Taym?" He said, "No, but this clan of Quraysh — the fated hours will draw them sweetly and hasten toward them, being the first of people to perish." I said, "So what will be the survival of the people after them?" He said, "They are the backbone of the people; when they perish, the people perish."
