حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ الْفَقْرَ تَخَافُونَ أَوْ الْعَوَزَ أَوَتُهِمُّكُمْ الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ فَاتِحٌ لَكُمْ أَرْضَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومِ وَتُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمْ الدُّنْيَا صَبًّا حَتَّى لَا يُزِيغُكُمْ بَعْدِي إِنْ أَزَاغَكُمْ إِلَّا هِيَ.
English Translation
Haywah told us, saying: Baqiyyah b. al-Walid informed us, saying: Bahir b. Sa'd told me, from Khalid b. Ma'dan, from Jubayr b. Nufayr, from Awf b. Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up among his companions and said, "Is it poverty you fear, or want? Or does the world concern you? Indeed Allah is going to open for you the land of Persia and Byzantium, and the world will be poured out upon you in torrents, so that nothing will lead you astray after me except it itself, if it leads you astray."
