حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ سَمِعَ الْقَوْمَ وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ ثُمَّ سَمِعَ نِدَاءً فِي الْوَادِي يَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا يَشْهَدَ بِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا بَرِئَ مِنْ الشِّرْكِ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ.
English Translation
Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us: Ibn Wahb narrated to us: Amr ibn al-Harith narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi Hilal, that Yahya ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to him, from Awn ibn Abdullah, from Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam, from his father, who said: While we were traveling with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he heard the people saying, Which deeds are best, O Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Faith in Allah and His Messenger, striving in the path of Allah, and an accepted pilgrimage. Then he heard a call in the valley saying: I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: And I testify -- and I testify that no one testifies to it except that he is freed from associating partners with Allah. Abdullah said: And I heard it from Harun.
