حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ قَرْثَعٍ الضَّبِّيِّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَدْرِي مَا يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ قُلْتُ هُوَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي جَمَعَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ أَبَاكُمْ قَالَ لَكِنِّي أَدْرِي مَا يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ لَا يَتَطَهَّرُ الرَّجُلُ فَيُحْسِنُ طُهُورَهُ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْجُمُعَةَ فَيُنْصِتُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ الْإِمَامُ صَلَاتَهُ إِلَّا كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ مَا اجْتُنِبَتْ الْمَقْتَلَةُ.
English Translation
Hushaym told us, from Mughirah, from Abu Ma'shar, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Qarth' al-Dabbi, from Salman al-Farisi, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do you know what the day of Jumu'ah is?" I said: "It is the day on which Allah gathered your father." He said: "But I know what the day of Jumu'ah is: No man purifies himself, performing his purification well, then comes to the Friday prayer and listens attentively until the Imam finishes his prayer, except that it is an expiation for him between that and the following Friday, as long as the major sins are avoided."
