حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ حِرَاشٍ قَالَ أَبِي وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ أَنَّهُ أَتَى حُذَيْفَةَ بْنَ الْيَمَانِ بِالْمَدَائِنِ يَزُورُهُ وَيَزُورُ أُخْتَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا فَعَلَ قَوْمُكَ يَا رِبْعِيُّ أَخَرَجَ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَسَمَّى نَفَرًا وَذَلِكَ فِي زَمَنِ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَاسْتَذَلَّ الْإِمَارَةَ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَلَا وَجْهَ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ.
English Translation
Abu 'Asim told us, Kathir b. Abi Kathir al-Tamimi told us, Rib'i b. Hirash told us - my father and Ishaq b. Sulayman told us, Kathir told us, from Rib'i: that he came to Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman at al-Mada'in to visit him and to visit his sister. Hudhayfah said: "What has your people done, O Rib'i? Has anyone of them gone out?" He said: "Yes," and he named a group - and that was at the time people went out against 'Uthman. Hudhayfah said: "I heard the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever goes out from the community and belittles authority will meet God with no standing before Him.'"
