حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمُرَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَتُكَمِّلُوا بِهَا فَرِيضَتَهُ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ.
English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from al-Azraq ibn Qays, from Yahya ibn Ya'mar, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable is his prayer. If he has completed it, it will be recorded for him as complete; and if he has not completed it, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will say, 'Look and see if you find any voluntary prayer for My servant, so complete his obligatory prayer with it.' Then zakat likewise, then the rest of the deeds will be taken according to that."
