English Translation
When Dimam ibn Tha'labah, from Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr, accepted Islam, he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the obligations of Islam — prayer and other things. The Prophet listed for him the five prayers, no more, then the zakah, then the fasting of Ramadan, then the Hajj to the House, then he informed him of what Allah had prohibited. When he finished, Dimam said: 'I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. I will do what you have commanded me — no more and no less.' Then he turned to leave. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'If the man with the two braids is truthful, he will enter Paradise.'
