حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرَهُمْ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ يَعْنِي مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ وَقَالَ فِيهِ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ.
English Translation
Ishaq ibn 'Isa narrated to us: Hushaym narrated to us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu Qilabah, from Abu Zayd al-Ansari, that a man freed six slaves of his at the time of his death, having no property besides them. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cast lots among them, and freed two and kept four in bondage. -- Surayj ibn al-Nu'man narrated to us: Hushaym narrated to us: Khalid informed us: Abu Qilabah narrated to us, from Abu Zayd al-Ansari, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, similarly -- meaning like the hadith of Mansur, from al-Hasan, that a man freed six slaves belonging to him, and he said in it: "So he cast lots among them."
