حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ الْأَنْفَالِ فَقَالَ فِينَا مَعْشَرَ أَصْحَابِ بَدْرٍ نَزَلَتْ حِينَ اخْتَلَفْنَا فِي النَّفْلِ وَسَاءَتْ فِيهِ أَخْلَاقُنَا فَانْتَزَعَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَيْدِينَا وَجَعَلَهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَسَمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَنْ بَوَاءٍ يَقُولُ عَلَى السَّوَاءِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Salamah told us, from Ibn Ishaq, from 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Makhul, from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, who said: I asked 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit about the Spoils of War. He said: It was revealed concerning us, the people of Badr, when we disagreed over the spoils and our conduct in that matter became bad. So Allah took it out of our hands and placed it in the hands of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, divided it among the Muslims equally.
