English Translation
Waki' told us, Usamah ibn Zayd told us, from Ubadah ibn al-Walid ibn Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from his grandfather Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to hear and obey in hardship and ease, in adversity and prosperity, and not to dispute authority with those entitled to it, and to speak the truth wherever we were, fearing for the sake of Allah no one's blame.
