English Translation
Hashim ibn al-Qasim and Affan told us, they said: Muhammad ibn Talhah told us, from al-A'mash, from al-Walid ibn Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from his father, who said: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to hear and obey in hardship and ease, in adversity and prosperity, and even when preference over us was given to others, and that we would speak the truth wherever we were, fearing for the sake of Allah no one's blame. Affan said: "our tongues."
