حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَرَوْحٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَيْضًا حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ نَفْسٍ تَمُوتُ وَلَهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى خَيْرٌ تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا الْمَقْتُولُ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ إِلَّا الْقَتِيلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُقْتَلَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Bakr, Rawh, and Abd al-Razzaq told us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said, and Sulayman ibn Musa also said, Kathir ibn Murrah told us, that Ubadah ibn al-Samit told them that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no soul on earth that dies and has good with Allah, Blessed and Exalted, that would wish to return to you, except the one slain" — and Rawh said "except the one killed in the way of Allah — for he wishes to return and be killed again."
