حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَيْ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ غَزَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ لَا يَنْوِي فِي غَزَاتِهِ إِلَّا عِقَالًا فَلَهُ مَا نَوَى.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us, Hammad - that is, Hammad ibn Salamah - informed us, from Jabalah ibn Atiyyah, from Yahya ibn al-Walid ibn Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from his grandfather Ubadah ibn al-Samit, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever fights in the path of Allah while intending in his fighting nothing but a mere rope-tie's worth, then he shall have what he intended."
