English Translation
Al-Walid ibn Muslim told us, al-Awza'i told us, Umayr ibn Hani' al-Ansi told me, Junada ibn Abi Umayya told me, who said: Ubada ibn al-Samit told me, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: Whoever wakes in the night and says: There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things capable. Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, Allah is greatest, and there is no power and no strength except by Allah - then says: My Lord, forgive me - or he said: then calls upon Him - he will be answered. And if he resolves and performs ablution, then prays, his prayer will be accepted. Affan told us, Hammad told us, Thabit al-Bunani and Humayd informed us, from Anas ibn Malik, from Ubada ibn al-Samit, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: that he came out one night to his companions, wanting to inform them of the Night of Decree, and he mentioned the hadith, except that he said: So seek it in the last ten nights, on the ninth, the seventh, or the fifth.
