English Translation
Al-Dahhak ibn Makhlad told us, from al-Awza'i - Yahya ibn Abi Kathir told me, Abdullah ibn Abi Qatada told us, Abu Qatada told me - or told us - that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in the two rak'ahs of Dhuhr the Opening of the Book and a surah, and he would prolong it in the first two, and likewise in Asr, and he would make us hear a verse at times.
