حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ قَالَ جَاءَ رِعْيَةُ السُّحَيْمِيُّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أُغِيرَ عَلَى وَلَدِي وَمَالِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَّا الْمَالُ فَقَدْ اقْتُسِمَ وَأَمَّا الْوَلَدُ فَاذْهَبْ مَعَهُ يَا بِلَالُ فَإِنْ عَرَفَ وَلَدَهُ فَادْفَعْهُ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَذَهَبَ مَعَهُ فَأَرَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ تَعْرِفُهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَدَفَعَهُ فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُغَارَ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani, who said: Ri'yah al-Suhaymi came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: 'My children and property have been raided.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'As for the property, it has been divided. As for the children, go with him, O Bilal, and if he recognizes his child, hand him over to him.' So he went with him and showed him to him, and said: 'Do you recognize him?' He said: 'Yes.' So he handed him over and he went to him. Sufyan said: They think he had embraced Islam before the raid on him.
