حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَائِدُ الْمَرِيضِ فِي مَخْرَفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِيهِ ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ.
English Translation
Yunus and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammad narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu Asma', from Thawban — I do not know except that he raised it — 'Affan said: from Thawban who raised it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "The one who visits the sick is in the garden of Paradise." And Ibn Mahdi did not express doubt about it.
