حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَمَّارٍ شَدَّادٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ وَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ هَلْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا حِينَ صَلَّيْنَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْكَ.
English Translation
Abu al-Mughira narrated to us: al-Awza'i narrated to us: Abu Ammar Shaddad narrated to me: Abu Umama narrated to me: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense deserving a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me." He turned away from him. Then he said again, "I have committed an offense deserving a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me." He turned away from him again. Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense deserving a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me." He turned away from him, and the prayer was called. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished the prayer with the closing greeting, the man stood and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense deserving a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me." He said, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Did you pray with us when we prayed?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Go, for Allah has indeed pardoned you."
