English Translation
Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri told us, Aban -- meaning Ibn Abdullah -- told us, Abu Muslim told us, who said: I went in to Abu Umamah while he was picking lice out of his clothes in the mosque and burying the lice in the gravel, so I said to him, "O Abu Umamah, a man told me on your authority that you said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever performs ablution and completes it thoroughly, washing his hands and face, and wiping his head and ears, then rises to the obligatory prayer, Allah forgives him on that day whatever his foot walked to, whatever his hands grasped, whatever his ears heard, whatever his eyes looked upon, and whatever evil his soul spoke to itself of.'" He said: "By Allah, I have indeed heard it from the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, more times than I can count."
