حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ عَنْ النَّافِلَةِ فَقَالَ كَانَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَافِلَةً وَلَكُمْ فَضِيلَةً.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar told us, from Abu Ghalib, who said: I asked Abu Umamah about the supererogatory prayer, and he said: "It was supererogatory for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and for you it is a source of merit."
