English Translation
This was struck out. Abdullah said: I found this hadith in my father's book in his own handwriting, and he had struck it out. I supposed that he struck it out because it is an error; it is rather from Zayd, from Abu Sallam, from Abu Umamah. Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar informed us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Umamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Learn the Qur'an, for it will intercede on the Day of Resurrection. Learn al-Baqarah and Al Imran, learn the two bright ones, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as though they were two clouds, or two shades, or as though they were two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading on behalf of their companion. Learn al-Baqarah, for learning it is a blessing and abandoning it is a source of regret, and the sorcerers cannot withstand it.
