حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ سَرْجِسَ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ أَخَفَّ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً عَلَى النَّاسِ وَأَدْوَمَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
Abu Sa'id, the mawla of Banu Hashim, told us, Za'idah told us, 'Abdullah b. 'Uthman b. Khuthaym told us, Nafi' b. Sarjis told us, that he entered upon Abu Waqid al-Laythi, a Companion of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, during the illness from which he died, and he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was the lightest of people in leading the prayer for the people, and the most constant in it for himself, peace and blessings be upon him."
