حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثًا وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً قَالَ وَأَيْمُ اللَّهِ لَوْ مَضَى السَّائِلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا وَقَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ يَوْمٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ.
English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdi told us, from Sufyan, and Abu Nu'aym said: Sufyan told us, from his father, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from 'Amr b. Maymun, from Abu 'Abdullah al-Jadali, from Khuzaymah b. Thabit, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, appointed three days for the traveler and a day and a night for the resident, and said: "By Allah, had the questioner pressed on in his question, he would have made it five." Abu Nu'aym said: "A day for the resident."
