حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ الشَّهَادَةِ مَا شَهِدَ بِهَا صَاحِبُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا.
English Translation
Isma'il ibn Ibrahim told us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq told us, from Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm, from his father, from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Uthman, from Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The best testimony is that which a witness gives before he is asked for it.'
