Wahb ibn Jarir told us, my father told us, he said: I heard Harmalah narrating from Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah, from Abu Basrah, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will indeed conquer Egypt, a land in which the qirat is named; when you conquer it, be good to its people, for they have a covenant of protection and a kinship" — or he said "a covenant of protection and a marriage tie." "So if you see two men disputing over the space of a single brick therein, then leave it." He said: Then I saw Abd al-Rahman ibn Shurahbil ibn Hasanah and his brother Rabi'ah disputing over the space of a brick, so I left it. He said: And Harun also narrated it to us, Ibn Wahb told us, Harmalah told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah, who said: I heard Abu Dharr, and he mentioned something similar.
