English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us: he said: I heard al-Awza'i say: Harun ibn Ri'ab informed me, from al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, who said: I entered Jerusalem and found in it a man who was prostrating a great deal. I felt something uneasy about that within myself, and when he finished, I said: Do you know whether you finished on an even or odd number of prostrations? He said: If I do not know, then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, knows. Then he said: My beloved Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, informed me - then he wept - then he said: My beloved Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, informed me - then he wept - then he said: My beloved Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, informed me that he said: "There is no servant who prostrates a single prostration to Allah, but that Allah raises him a degree thereby, removes from him a sin thereby, and records for him a good deed thereby." I said: Tell me who you are, may Allah have mercy on you. He said: I am Abu Dharr, the companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Then I felt myself shrink in humility before him.
