حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوَّلُ قَالَ الْمَسْجِدُ الْحَرَامُ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ قَالَ ثُمَّ الْمَسْجِدُ الْأَقْصَى قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ قُلْتُ كَمْ بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً وَأَيْنَمَا أَدْرَكَتْكَ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ فَإِنَّهُ مَسْجِدٌ قَالَ أَبِي وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيَّ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us: al-A'mash told us, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, from Abu Dharr, who said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, which mosque was placed on earth first? He said: "The Sacred Mosque." I said: Then which? He said: "Then the Farthest Mosque" - Abu Mu'awiyah said: meaning Jerusalem. I said: How long between them? He said: "Forty years, and wherever the time of prayer overtakes you, pray, for it is a mosque." My father and Ibn Ja'far said: Shu'bah told us, from Sulayman, who said: I heard Ibrahim al-Taymi, and he mentioned its like.
