حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَانٌ الْعَامِرِيُّ عَنْ جَسْرَةَ بِنْتِ دَجَاجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَرَدَّدَهَا حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ { إِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ }.
English Translation
Waki' told us: so-and-so al-Amiri told us, from Jasrah bint Dajajah, from Abu Dharr, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recited this verse and repeated it until morning: "If You punish them, they are Your servants; and if You forgive them, then You are the Mighty, the Wise."
