English Translation
Bahz told us: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah told us: Humayd told us, from Abd Allah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: A man's prayer is interrupted if there is not before him something like the rear of a saddle, [when passed by] a woman, a donkey, or a black dog. I said to Abu Dharr: What is the matter with the black dog as opposed to the red dog? He said: O son of my brother, I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as you have asked me, and he said: "The black dog is a devil."
