حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الرَّقَاشِيُّ الْخَزَّازُ حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا بِلَالُ اجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَإِقَامَتِكَ نَفَسًا يَفْرُغُ الْآكِلُ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ فِي مَهَلٍ وَيَقْضِي الْمُتَوَضِّئُ حَاجَتَهُ فِي مَهَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَزَّازُ أَخْبَرَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَارِكُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا بِلَالُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.
English Translation
Abdullah narrated to us: Zakariyya ibn Yahya ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Sa'id ar-Raqashi al-Khazzaz narrated to me: Salm ibn Qutaybah narrated to us: Malik ibn Mighwal narrated to us, from Ibn al-Fadl, from Abu al-Jawza', from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Bilal, put a pause between your call to prayer (adhan) and the call to begin the prayer (iqamah), long enough for the one eating to finish his food unhurriedly, and for the one performing ablution to relieve himself unhurriedly." Abdullah narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahim al-Bazzaz narrated to me: Qurrah ibn Habib informed us: Mu'arik ibn Abbad al-Abdi informed us: Abdullah ibn al-Fadl informed us, from Abdullah ibn Abi al-Jawza', from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Bilal" -- and he mentioned something similar.
